Global Youth Workers, Josh and Viry Nunez spent several days in the month of November serving at a youth conference in Peña de Bernal, Queretaro, Mexico. There was a sense the excitement from Josh following the conference. “The Lord has definitely moved mightily in the lives of the young men and women and teachers! We pretty much doubled in size from last year when we had about a total of 77. This year we had a total of 149 not counting children! More than half of those who attended came for the first time! There were a number of youth that made a commitment to follow Christ over the course of the three day conference.”
Viry had been a camper at this conference when she was younger and was now able to serve as a leader. She organized elective classes for the youth to attend. She prepared and led a four hour prayer hike to and from a monolith known as “Peña de Bernal” which included prayer circles, prayer and worship time at the foot of the monolith and meditation on God’s Word.
Josh was able to work alongside of the co-director throughout the conference. He led early morning leadership prayer meetings covering the youth who attended the conference, as well as, prepped all leaders for the day’s activities. He also taught a class on leadership for youth leaders in attendance.
Josh shared, “at the end of the event we saw a lot of enthusiasm for next year and even now on Facebook we have seen a lot of youth posting pictures and talking about how blessed they have returned. May God receive all the glory for all of this and more.”
