“Exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.” 1 Timothy 4:7b-8
In 2012, God did a great work through our 1st Annual Key West Bike Ride: “To the Ends of the Earth.” That year, we rode for transformation of lives of youth in Bulgaria. Our goal was $5,000 and over $7,000 was raised to help the ministry of global youth workers, Gabe & Melissa Hillman. In addition to raising funds, our 12 riders prayed intentionally and advocated for their ministry. As a result of telling their stories, God used the 2012 KWBR as a catalyst for the birthing of True Horizons youth foundation in Bulgaria. In addition to sending funds, in the summer of 2012, YouthHOPE sent a team of college-age interns for 2 months to be the hands & feet of Jesus alongside of the Hillmans.
In 2013, 32 riders and 7 support staff made the 300-mile journey from Fort Myers to Key West in order to transform the lives of youth in Zambia. This year, God challenged us to increase our goal to $30,000 and He provided over $45,000! At YouthHOPE, we believe in a holistic approach to ministry. For that reason, we partnered with Active:Water and The Hunger Strike (now WILLET missions) in order to transform communities for youth in Zambia. So far, the donations have yielded funds for:
-
Over 35,000 meals sent
-
1 community handpump well funded
-
70 biosand filters provided for families
-
Global youth workers sustained and resourced
-
Funds for thousands of copies of Bible study guides and more!
This summer, YouthHOPE is sending a team of college-age interns for 2 months to Zambia to be the hands & feet of Jesus alongside our partners there.
