Internship Timeline

What will you be doing?
Asia has some of the fastest growing economies with some of the largest populations of poverty in the world. The country you will travel to has been under a Military dictatorship for the past 20 years. This last year was the beginning of transition for the country. The country was once known as one of the worst human rights violators in the world, but after a November 2010 democratic election there have been fast changes. Businesses have now opened up and this country has been accepted into the Asian business community. Recently the U.S. sent diplomats to discuss leniency on years of sanctions that had been imposed on the oppressive government.
This summer you will have the opportunity to be some of the first people to help bring hope to the youth in the business community of this country. First you will travel to Thailand and do a 15 day training in International Business As Mission. After that you will spend six weeks with Opportunities Now Entrepreneurship School helping develop young entrepreneurs as they go through their training program and start their businesses. You will partner with them to do market research that will help these young people start successful businesses. You will also work alongside the global youth workers to start a business to offset costs of the school. At the end of the internship you will have a firm grasp of grassroots international business in the public and NGO sectors. You will make lasting relationships with local Global Youth Workers and underprivileged youth your age who are starting businesses from scratch.
