Each day, in new ways, God continues to remind me that there is no safer place to be than walking in the His will. The fundamental root to trusting God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength is first acknowledging that GOD IS ALL GOOD and despite every conceivable problem you can think of, He still always holds your best interests at heart. He WILL equip you for every trial you face. If God chose only perfect people to do his good deeds then nothing would get done. Therefore, our God does not call those who are equipped by their own deeds, but rather He fully equips those He calls.
So all of you single ladies… if you feel called to ministry overseas as a single woman read this and be encouraged! There are women thriving in ministry around the globe, and many of them are…. you guessed it….. single.
In fact, I had the chance to spend June and July with an incredible woman following God’s calling to work with youth in Cambodia. Not only is God using her gifts of teaching to minister to girls rescued out of sex slavery, but through her God continues to bless the full time national leaders as well. Her leadership to the women she works with is invaluable and in less than two years the people of Cambodia are calling her one of their own. She is fully equipped with love from the Lord AND God continually provides the support she needs to encourage her in her walk of faith.
One day over lunch I had a great conversation with her about how God called her to this country. She told me that she never heard the audible voice of God, but the Spirit continued to encourage her as she read the Word. Passages she read continued to stick out; passages telling God’s people to care for widows and orphans. I personally was encouraged by her faith and she continues to encourage all the lives she touches.
Even if God is not specifically calling you to an overseas ministry I encourage you to take some time to be silent before God today. Shut down all of the noise. God’s spirit is gentle and deep, and will work softly on your heart. His voice is but a whisper in the business of the day. What is God telling you? Listen. Where is God leading you? Follow. I have learned that when God is calling me to something and I drag my feet, I grow restless and uncomfortable. I can ask every “how” question in the book. I may never get specific answers, but rather an overwhelming sense that if God is calling, He would provide. If He leads you to it, He will also lead you through it!

Love your writing & LOVE you!!
