Ramadan

An intentional 30 days of prayer for over 1 billion Muslims around the world has begun.

How should the Christian respond?

Last night, I took my 3 daughters to our local library and my eyes were captivated by an Islamic children’s book, proudly displayed, most likely with the onset of Ramadan.  The author describes a young girl going to her grandmother’s house and hearing the nearby mosque announcing “It’s time to pray, come and pray,” 5x a day.  The story tracks the girl’s time with her grandma, her interest in praying, and culminates with her receiving her own special prayer clothes, prayer rug and miniature mosque figure because there is not one nearby her house.  The figure is a clock that goes off and reminds her to pray and the modern Muslim prayer rugs have a compass which points the Muslim toward Mecca.  This might seem like a nice story but the truth is:  This. Is. Bondage.

The word “islam” means, “submission to God.”  Therefore, a Muslim is one who “strives to submit to God.”  The Truth, however, is that God does not desire our striving, but He willing offers His Son, Jesus, as the One who submitted on our behalf.  He paid the price for us and satisfied the wrath of God on our behalf – to those who trust Him.  Most Muslims have never heard this Truth.

There is approximately 1 Christian missionary for every 1 million Muslims in the world.

Would you pray that God would raise up laborers to enter in to His harvest?

The US has sent 100x as many troops to the Middle East as they have sent missionaries for Christ.

Would you pray for YouthHOPE’s global youth workers who are living and reaching Muslims daily?

Right now, two of our YouthHOPE team members will travel to Bangladesh where the population is predominately Muslim.  0.5% of the people of Bangladesh identify themselves as Christians.

Would you pray for them as they go – beseeching God, on their behalf, that He would use them in a powerful way?

The only way that a major change will occur in the Muslim world is through Jesus.  The only way that the 1,000,000 mosques in Cairo, Egypt will be replaced with churches is through Jesus.  Will you commit to praying, fasting, and seeking the Lord for this in the next 30 days?  He can do exceedingly, abundantly more than we ask or imagine, and yet, He wants us to ask.  Will you ask Him for the nations?

Read more info about the 30 days of prayer for the Muslim world now and join us in praying.
